ORAC and the ORAC Value of Acai
ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity. This assay measures the antioxidant content of foods. The higher the ORAC score, the more potentially available antioxidants in that food.
It was developed by the scientists at the National Institute on Aging in the National Institutes of Health. The US Department of Agriculture USDA has listed a database of the ORAC values in its home page
www.usda.gov
You can significantly increase your daily intake of antioxidants by consuming acai berry products, especially those containing Opti-acai freeze dried powder.
The sheer number and profile of antioxidants in acai makes it unique from virtually any other known fruit. In fact, the ORAC value of acai in the Opti-acai freeze dried powder has scored the highest ORAC value of any any fruit or vegetable ever tested.
Acai can sustain you longer than any other food in the world without showing any signs of malnutrition. Scientists call it a freak of nature.

This chart shows you an ORAC comparison between the #1 super fruit Acai and some of the more common fruits and vegetables available that are supposedly high in antioxidants.
At the top you can see the Acai Berry listed at 1026 followed by the wild black raspberry scoring at 340 the wild blueberry at 260 and at the bottom is the carrot at 50.
