Why a Liquid

Why A liquid

Pill form versus liquid has always had its pros and cons by many leading professionals and physicians but if you were to remove the word ‘money' from the list of reasons, liquid would win every time.  The bottom line is that it is cheaper to make pills than liquid.  But what is the cost to you as the consumer?

If you look at the nutritional comparison of a liquid supplement to a supplement in pill form, the facts tell quite a different story.  In a survey by the National Science Foundation (NSF), 18 vitamin producers in the marketplace were tested as to their claims of potency and composition of their products.  Only 6 companies proved to have the stated nutritional value.  Over 80% of the ingredients were fillers, binders, chelating agents and film coatings.  The Physician's Desk Reference further supports this fact by stating that only 10 to 20% of vitamins and minerals in pill form are actually absorbed into our body.

In Salt Lake City, it is reported that over 150 gallons of vitamin and mineral pills have to be removed from filters in their water filtration system on a monthly basis that did not break down in water.  Ingredients such as oyster shells, carbonates, oxides and dolomites are metallic in nature and have the consistency of crushed up rocks, not designed for the human body.  They move right through our bodies without being absorbed.  Talk about a waste of money!

Are Supplemental Pills OnTheir Way Out?

Liquid supplements may not be as inexpensive to manufacture or have the shelf life of pills but you know that the absorption rate by the stomach and intestinal tract accepts these products in liquid form much easier and productively than a pill that has to be broken down, many times going straight through your system. In simpler terms, for every $100 you spend on those nutrient supplements in pill form, you are flushing about $90 down the toilet.

You may notice that many natural supplement companies today are offering forms of nutrients today in a great tasting liquid. While you may not think that this is very convenient, stop and think about when you take your vitamins. It is usually at home in the morning and convenience has nothing to do with it. Habit is a better word and habits are hard to break but once you have the facts and watch your money quickly disappear, it won't be so hard to break.

We all want to be healthier and do what we can in an effort to replace much-needed nutrients in our system that is destroyed by processed foods, lack of exercise and poor sleeping habits but choose your methods carefully. The National Advisory Board will further produce proof that 100 mg of a tablet translates into 8.3 mg concentration in your blood. The next time you shop for nutrients, skip the pills, and go straight to the liquids. Manufacturing companies may hate you but your body will thank you.
